Jerome,
I know this is going to surprise you. The title of the mail explains why you have not been able to reach her.
We found out what had happened. The day after you left, she felt weak. She was alert enough to call the hospital and warn that she was coming in. A bed was waiting for her. Her red cell blood count just evaporated on account of the chemotherapy. She has no immune system and will be in isolation for a few weeks. After that, she can undergo more chemotherapy; which is apparently what she wants. You can reach her through the normal hospital phone number.
