Milan, November 29, 1997 Mom, I prefer to write these few words down - maybe I will make myself clearer than over the phone. You alluded over the phone that you want to stop the chemotherapy. You believe you only had five treatments to go through; I was there with the doctors, that is simply not true. The way I count things, the last treatment you went to was more than two weeks ago... In any instance, I cannot push you; it is your decision and no one else's. But before you make up your mind definitely, I just wanted to say a few things:
I really hope you believe to have the illness under control, under your control. If you sense that you have control and want to stop the treatment, I have no reason to disagree. But if you feel that you need more treatment, then just make an appointment. If you want, we can go together on the 18th when we arrive. All four of us land on the 17th. We will be here for three weeks. We are all impatient to get there. And you will see how much Aubert has grown! We really hope to have some wonderful holidays with you. I will be off to Paris for a few days to work. I will call you upon my return. Take good care of yourself, Jérôme |
