![]() When we arrived, I had a major surprise. Pierre, who picked us up at the airport, found her frail; but he had not seen her last July. The following morning, we went to the clinic for a session. The doctor confirmed what we clearly saw: she is responding well to the treatment. Apparently, this is not a very heavy treatment, whereas her first set was extremely toxic, as toxic as it gets. (Chemotherapy is lethal shotgun therapy: you scatter after a bunch of cells, some cancerous, others healthy... The trick is in making the shotgun more of a precision instrument and only go after the naughty cells) He was genuinely excited with the results. He was nearly laughing! Mom is in good shape. Her voice exudes energy. She walks vigorously. She eats. She wants to do things. The only thing wrong is that she lost her hair again (the doctor said there was only a 10% chance of hair loss; this had been his first patient to whom it happened). This time she decided to do away with the wig and just be herself.
I cannot write much; Arianna is running around the place all the time. And mom wants to go out with her.
I will try calling you early tomorrow. Jérôme |
